The VINCORION energy system is now mass-produced for use in the Puma, the most state-of-the-art infantry fighting vehicle in the world, where it has proven itself in the field hundreds of times over. With a powerful
built-in starter generator, an electronic generator control unit, various power converters, and other components, the VINCORION High-Performance On-Board Electrical System for Superiority in the Field In cooperation with project partners, VINCORION has done truly groundbreaking work in the Puma project.
 
Technological and material challenges had to be overcome before the first military More Electric Vehicle was ready for mass production. Critical components include the starter generator with its electronic power control unit, which is the result of our decades of generator and power electronics expertise, and the electric fans, which are also operated via the control unit. An isolated connection to the vehicle’s conventional on-board electrical system via power electronics rounds out the system.

VINCORION has entered uncharted technological territory with the development of a high-voltage power supply system for on-board electrical systems with the highest power needs and maximum requirements in terms of ruggedness and space savings, and has successfully implemented it in mass production.

The customized power system

The Puma project highlights VINCORION’s strengths. We supply the entire network structure – adapted to the customer’s requirements. We also develop the right power system for your military vehicle series with a modular and flexible design. We use controllers and power converters to connect the various power consumers. Many of the electrical machines such as the air-conditioning power converters with auxiliary drive motor, blower, stabilization system, motor fan, coarse dust blower and starter generator come directly from our company and fit seamlessly into the overall system.
 
Our power electronics manage different voltages.
 
We are experts when it comes to on-board networks, including the MIL standards – for safety and effectiveness in military missions.
