SOLUTIONS
The Challenge
Supplying power via electrical generators plays a crucial role in mobile military readiness. The generators are the workhorses that drive the success of your missions. In this context, the requirements are as varied as the vehicle profiles.
VINCORION’s Solutions
We scale our power generators to perfectly fit your installation space, power requirements, and climatic conditions. Choose between air, water, and oil cooling and an output between 5.6 and 28 kilowatts (28 VDC) or more than 100 kW for use in high-voltage systems.
Our generators also stand out for their cost-effectiveness, e.g., due to low life cycle costs with a long MTBF (“mean time between failures”).
The Challenge
The development of modern military vehicles that include more and more systems that require power is leading to an increasing demand for electricity.
VINCORION’s Solutions
VINCORION’s powerful and compact electric power systems can work either in combination with the main drive system or independently of it. We offer complete power solutions for your vehicles – from extra-low voltage to low or high voltage.
In the extra-low voltage segment, we are broadly positioned with auxiliary power units that can also be used as range extenders, our HEMS (hybrid energy management system) start-stop system, and our BOS (battery observation system).
In addition, we offer the ability for you to use a complete power system with starter generator, lithium-ion battery connection, connection to the vehicle’s 28-volt on-board electrical system, export/import power, and high-voltage systems that consume electricity like A/C drives or high-performance fan drives. In this context, we offer numerous additional functions such as boost mode, KERS, and silent watch mode.
VINCORION solutions stand out for their efficiency, functionality, and ease of integration. We offer optimized electrical vehicle power systems that are an excellent value. Contact us today for a solution tailored to your needs.
The Challenge
Military vehicles have to perform perfectly at all times, even during demanding missions and in difficult climatic conditions. An emergency power source that operates independently of the main drive system expands the options.
VINCORION’s Solutions
Gensets from VINCORION reliably supply electricity tailored to the respective on-board systems. As a heavy-duty and compact combination of diesel engine, generator, and rectifier, the auxiliary power unit (APU) makes it possible to charge the battery and operate the air conditioning.
VINCORION solutions can be adapted with flexibility to meet specific customer requirements and can be used in a wide range of military vehicles. Their modular, compact, and lightweight design means they can be installed in almost any space in the vehicle.
VINCORION’s auxiliary power units have proven themselves all over the world. They currently operate reliably in around 1,000 models of two main battle tanks in widespread use worldwide: the British Challenger 2 and the German Leopard 2. The permanent magnet flywheel generator installed in the system delivers high energy peaks. Because it does not produce a great deal of noise, the APU also supports silent watch mode. A running APU reduces wear and tear on the main drive system and reduces fuel consumption.
The Challenge
In order to ensure that the maximum amount of power is available for air defense operations at the military camp, power must be fed in and made available from a variety of sources, such as the regional power grid.
VINCORION’s Solution
VINCORION has been supplying field-proven converters for decades that provide a 400 Hz supply for long-term deployments. You can operate your infrastructure via the local power grid or the VINCORION genset without having to switch over VINCORION converters operate in hot standby mode so that you can seamlessly switch between grid and genset operation at any time without any interruption in power.
Our 400 Hz converters can be operated on 50 Hz and 60 Hz networks worldwide and meet military standards’ stringent formal requirements. As a result, sensitive military equipment such as aircraft or air defense systems receive a reliable and constant supply of 400 Hz power at an appropriate voltage.
Y can rely on our expertise, including state-of-the-art development, production, and testing tools.
Upgrade for the Leopard 2
The gun turret and weapon stabilization system used in the Leopard 2 main battle tank was first developed for the Leopard 2 A4 in the 1970s – and to this day always keeps its target firmly in its sights, no matter how rough the terrain. The first models still featured a hydraulic weapon tracking system. In order to operate even more efficiently, the system was converted from hydraulic to electric stabilization starting with the Leopard 2 A5. It is faster, more accurate, more reliable, lighter, takes up less space, requires less maintenance and thus guarantees maximum operational readiness. Since then, advancements have been made to the electric weapon tracking system with each subsequent Leopard upgrade. This is a successful partnership that always keeps the mission firmly in mind.
