Increased Comfort Near The Floor

Heated Floor Panel

One of the characteristics of medium-haul and long-haul passenger planes is that after a few hours in flight, the floor near the doors cools down noticeably as temperatures outside drop to minus 60° C. A thermal bridge forms exactly where passengers go to the restrooms and crews work in the galley. This results in a lack of comfort and poor working conditions. VINCORION has developed the solution: the latest generation of heated floor panels which are installed at critical cold points. During a two-year development period in close collaboration with aircraft manufacturers, innovative features were implemented that eliminate all causes of damage from earlier sandwich panels.

PTC Heat Coating

Floor panels in the doorways and galleys are subject to extreme wear and tear – due to foot traffic, moisture, or the impact of falling kitchen objects, for example – which can quickly lead to corrosion and delamination. This can ultimately lead to the failure of the sandwich panels without the further possibility of repair. Instead of a conventional resistance heater with wires, our new VINCORION floor panel uses a PTC heat coating for the first time in civilian aviation. When heating temperatures rise, the paint cools down and thus protects the heating element from damage.

The innovative use of materials for the heated floor panel shows an enthusiasm for technical solutions that is otherwise only found at start-up companies.

Aluminium from Shipbuilding

Low Maintenance Costs

The use of a special aluminum alloy from the shipbuilding industry solves further challenges: 85% of the heat generated is emitted upwards. Even after seven months of rigorous testing, there were no signs of corrosion, moisture, or fungal infestation. You benefit from low maintenance costs, which are further reduced by the ability to easily repair the panel with a resin sealing set. After being certified and approved in 2018, VINCORION’s heated floor panels have been mass-produced since 2019. The panels can be installed in aircraft from every manufacturer. Increase the comfort on board and make flying safer and more efficient with our heated floor panels.
